Kim Muir Handicap Chase trends
A three mile handicap chase for amateur riders, and a race that rewards a patient ride more than raw speed. The 2024 running is the one to know about: Inothewayurthinkin won at 13/8 for Gavin Cromwell and Derek O'Connor, then came back the following year to win the Gold Cup.
Otherwise the prices have been generous, with Chambard at 40/1 for Venetia Williams in 2022 and Ask Brewster at 22/1 in 2026. Amateur riders' races attract talk of jockey error, but the recent record suggests these are simply competitive handicaps where the well-treated horse tends to win.
