Mares' Hurdle trends
The weight allowance and the restricted field make this the most predictable championship-level race of the week. Four of the last five winners went off at 9/4 or shorter, including Lossiemouth twice at 8/13 and 4/6, and Wodhooh at 5/6 in 2026.
Marie's Rock at 18/1 in 2022 is the only recent upset. The race also functions as a staging post rather than an end point, since Lossiemouth went on to win the 2026 Champion Hurdle and Honeysuckle came here between Champion Hurdle campaigns. Favourite backers have had it as good here as anywhere at the Festival.
Mares' Hurdle winners on file: Wodhooh, Lossiemouth, Honeysuckle, Marie's Rock. Favourite backers have had the better of it, with 4 of the last 5 winners going off market leader. The biggest-priced winner in that time was Marie's Rock at 18/1 in 2022.
