Baring Bingham Novices' Hurdle trends
Two and a half miles for novice hurdlers, and a race the market gets right more often than not. Sir Gerhard at 8/11 and Ballyburn at 1/2 both obliged, and Willie Mullins has taken three of the five runnings on file.
King Rasko Grey winning at 11/1 in 2026 was the first real upset in the sequence. The race has carried several sponsored names, appearing as the Ballymore, the Gallagher and the Turners, but it is the same contest throughout and the full history sits on this page.
Baring Bingham Novices' Hurdle winners on file: King Rasko Grey, The New Lion, Ballyburn, Impaire Et Passe, Sir Gerhard. The market has been a poor guide here, with only 1 of the last 5 winners going off favourite. The biggest-priced winner in that time was King Rasko Grey at 11/1 in 2026.
The race has run under several sponsored names, including Ballymore Novices' Hurdle, Gallagher Novices' Hurdle and Turners Novices' Hurdle. They are all the same contest, so the full history sits on this page.
