The County closes out Gold Cup day's hurdling with a big field over two miles, and Willie Mullins has taken three of the last five, with State Man, Absurde and Kargese.
State Man's 2022 win at 11/4 is the one worth remembering, because he came back to win the Champion Hurdle two years later. A handicap winner going on to a championship race is unusual enough to be worth noting when you look at the market each March.
Prices have been mixed, from Faivoir at 33/1 in 2023 to two winning favourites, so this is a race where the Irish raiders deserve respect without the market being a reliable guide on its own.
