Mares' Chase trends

A Festival race only since 2021, and one where the market has been reliable. Dinoblue won back-to-back runnings at 6/4 and 11/8, and every winner on file started at 3/1 or shorter.

The small field is the reason. Restricted to mares over two miles and four furlongs, it rarely attracts more than a dozen runners, and the best mare in training usually is the best mare in the race. Willie Mullins has won three of the five.

Mares' Chase winners on file: Dinoblue, Limerick Lace, Impervious, Elimay. The market has been a poor guide here, with only 2 of the last 5 winners going off favourite. The biggest-priced winner in that time was Limerick Lace at 3/1 in 2024.

Festival form

1 of the 5 winners on file had already won at the Cheltenham Festival before taking this race.

Winners without an earlier win listed here had not won at the Festival since 2022, which is as far back as this archive currently runs.

See the full card for each Festival on the results by year pages, or the Gold Cup Day page for how the rest of the day went.
