National Hunt Chase trends

Three miles and six furlongs for novice chasers, the longest race of the week and a proper test of stamina and jumping. Willie Mullins won it twice in a row with Stattler and Gaillard Du Mesnil, both ridden by Patrick Mullins.

The market has been sound, with four of the five winners at 7/2 or shorter, though Holloway Queen's 12/1 win for Nicky Henderson in 2026 showed it is not a formality. Horses who win it well often make up into Gold Cup contenders, since the trip and the attrition suit the same profile.

National Hunt Chase winners on file: Holloway Queen, Haiti Couleurs, Corbetts Cross, Gaillard Du Mesnil, Stattler. The market has been a poor guide here, with only 2 of the last 5 winners going off favourite. The biggest-priced winner in that time was Holloway Queen at 12/1 in 2026.
